Croydon Music & Arts

Croydon Music & Arts

Our vibrant campus is also only a stone’s throw away from the arts, culture and entertainment offered by Guildford, wider Surrey and London. Funds from our supporters have enabled us to bring an exciting programme of music and art focusing on local talent to Calne for a week every year. The society is committed to supporting local and regional performers and artists as well as showcasing visiting performers and exhibitors where appropriate to the programme. A refurbished building will allow us to bring more local creative businesses together with our education programme – providing young people with a broader range of qualifications and sustainable development opportunities.

  • From The Beach Boys to Basement Jaxx, Jessie Ware, Jax Jones, Tom Misch and Trevor Nelson; enjoy an eclectic lineup, beautifully curated by The Arts Club’s inhouse music team.
  • Featuring many fine students & graduates from London’s leading music conservatoires.
  • We are part of Arts Together because as a small charity, we know how useful it is to collaborate, be part of something bigger and to learn from others.

MAP Charity is an alternative education provider working with young people who are unable to access the mainstream school system. We’re delighted to present a series of recordings from the festival’s fifth edition, commencing with an ecstatic offering from Naarm local STÜM. Hurtling through trance, techno and rave with white-knuckle abandon, this one’s prime picking for your pre-party antics this weekend. Thank you to all the musicians and audience members for their kind support and contributions during these trying times. We promote aspiring and seasoned creative talent, support community engagement and other good causes. Located just a few minutes away from Turl Street, the Ashmolean is home to an outstanding collection of art and antiquities.

OUR VISION: THE HOPE FOUNDRY PROJECT

The only slight exception is that you can apply for a scholarship in Creative Writing if you study English or you could apply for visual art if you studied Textiles. Our collective of musicians range from students and graduates from London’s leading music conservatoires. Established 39 years ago in the former county town of Radnorshire, the Presteigne Festival has become a focal-point for those seeking musical innovation and artistic discovery amidst the beauty of the Welsh Marches. The best part about making music is making it together and we create opportunities to experience music making with others. Transforming lives by giving children, young people, and adults the lifelong gift of music. The £4.5m Ivy Arts Centre regularly hosts events and is the ideal space for productions with a 200-seat theatre and 50-seat studio space, as well as dance studios and rehearsal rooms.

Music Arts

It is open to all members of the University, and rehearses and performs in the Exeter College Chapel. The Turl Street Arts Festival is one of the highlights of the year at Exeter and sets the experience at Exeter apart from other Colleges. Moreover, both within the College and the wider University there is a huge variety of orchestras, magazines, exhibitions and plays which students can become involved with. Historically, Exeter College has had a lively and productive MAD – Music, Arts and Drama – scene. The College has also taught famous writers in a variety of genres, including Philip Pullman, Will Self, Amy Sackville, JRR Tolkien, and Qian Zhongshu.

Research shows that in the coming months, services like ours will be instrumental in ensuring young people have the support they need to prosper. The COVID-19 crisis has impacted how young people engage with education, and for those who have difficulty accessing school the disruptions caused by the pandemic are prolific.
