Below you will find the legal basis for application and admission to the University of Lucerne. Messages and documents from UZH relating to your application and admission will be posted on the application portal for you to download. You can apply via the online form as soon as the application period for the desired degree program has begun. Knowledge of French is not required to enrol in our programmes but the Institute offers intensive French language courses to encourage bilingualism among its students. Speaking French is also an advantage when living in Geneva, as it is a multilingual environment. Please note that you will be eligible to apply during the last year of your current study programme, provided you obtain your final degree by September 2022.

In this case you will have to repeat the application process if you wish to apply to UZH at a later date. You can withdraw your application via the application portal at any time until admission to study is granted. If you withdraw your application, your application fee will not be refunded.


This intensive course will be followed by a weekly course during the first year. There are separate procedures (see application for studies in medicine/dental medicine), if you seek admission to studies in medicine/dental medicine. When applying for mobility programs, follow the instructions provided by the Student Exchange Office at the University of Basel. Please remember to read carefully and complete all required pieces of the application. Matriculation is completed provisionally until the applicant presents a copy of the residence certificate obtained, and becomes final only once this document has been received by SUPSI.

  • If all the required details and documents have been submitted, your admission status will be verified by the director of studies’ office .
  • They must register for this course at the time of confirming their enrolment.
  • It is not possible to apply for financial aid in the late application deadline.

Foreigners who are required to obtain a visa must make a visa application to the Swiss Consular representation abroad that has jurisdiction for their place of domicile. The visa application form is issued free of charge by this representation office abroad. It must be accompanied by the travel document, and, if requested, by further documentation testifying the reason for the journey. SUPSI reserves the right to cancel programmes or courses should the number of applications be insufficient.

Teaching Language

Please note that you are eligible to apply during the last year of your current study programme, provided you obtain your final degree by the start of the MEIG Programme in September. Candidates who pass all the admission examinations will receive a letter of admission and a registration confirmation form by ordinary post and by email. This form must be signed and returned to the Academic Services Office of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana as instructed in the letter of admission. Once registration has been confirmed, you will officially become a student at the Conservatorio. Online payment with a credit card or PayPal account, through the applications portal. In this case it isnotnecessary to upload a transaction receipt in the portal.

To submit your trade mark application online, use the online application system IR-Online , which will take you through the process step by step, including giving you explanations on how to fill in the various sections. Once the review of your application is complete, UZH will send you a letter of admission or rejection. Please also take note of any appendix to the letter of admission regarding conditions and/or additional requirements. You can view the processing status of your application at any time in the application portal.
