  • Applicants who do not offer a GCSE in English Language or Mathematics may demonstrate an equivalent standard by completing a test via Equivalency Testing or A Star Equivalency and achieving at least a grade 5.
  • Entry requirements for a degree course in business studies vary from 4-5 Highers.
  • Students undertake two level 7 (Master’s-level) modules of 30 credits each, totalling 60 credits.

English language requirementsYou’re required to have a suitable minimum level of competency in the English language if your first language is not English or if you haven’t been educated wholly or mainly in the medium of English. The Teacher Induction Scheme is a scheme whereby eligible applicants are guaranteed a job for a year in a Scottish school. Business is the largest undergraduate major in the United States and still growing. This reality, along with the immense power of the business sector and its significance for national and global well-being, makes quality education critical not only for the students themselves but also for the public good. Business education for undergraduates, however, is too often narrow, failing to challenge students to question assumptions, think creatively, or understand the place of business in larger institutional contexts.

Prospective Students Graduate

Business education teachers are often the ‘go to’ teachers for technological innovation and advice. Therefore, the course uses a range of applications and digital platforms, and you will be supported to develop your own skills in using these with pupils. You will have the opportunity to undertake the Microsoft Innovative Educator and Apple Teacher awards on this course. This module will introduce the fundamental concepts of Organisational Behaviour and encourage students to develop an understanding of managing and developing people in a business context. The module will examine a range of theoretical approaches that will be used to help analyse and evaluate situations and issues relevant to behaviour within organisations.

They will also learn about financial products and terms through this interactive workshop, supported by volunteers. You will be assessed on your potential to learn and not your experience. Business education

The secondary PGCE aims to provide a springboard into a rewarding career as a skilled teacher and future educational leader. This module provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to gain structured and professional work experience, in a work-based learning environment, as part of their planned programme of study. This experience allows students to develop, refine and reflect on their key personal and professional skills. The placement should significantly support the development of the student’s employability skills, preparation for final year and enhance their employability journey. Business and IT are at the heart of national growth and development, and this is reflected in the important role that business education plays in the curriculum. The provision of business studies offers opportunities for individuals to develop the crucial skills and knowledge which allow them to access, understand and contribute to the dynamic and complex business and information environment.
