Liverpool Mountain by internationally renowned artist Ugo Rondinone is a major new public artwork for the city region which will be launched in October 2018. AlUla has long been a place that has harboured artists, inspired by the layered cultural heritage of the region, its spectacular landscapes and varied nature, and the character of AlUla’s people to create distinctive and compelling works. Now, AlUla hosts artists and cultural producers across continents in immersion-based programmes with the aim of delivering exceptional artistic experiences for participants, visitors and the community. Highlighting examples from Lebanon, Latin America, China, Ireland, India, Sri Lanka and beyond, this exciting book explores the relationship between the arts, culture and community development. It will also serve as an on-ramp and taster for students considering postgraduate study at SOAS, since it features introductions to themes and teaching staff who offer more detailed courses at postgraduate level .

The School of Arts and Cultures is distinctive because of thebreadth of subjects and specialismsit encompasses, its excellent relationships with regional and nationalcultural partners, and its critical mass increative practice expertise. Museums Sheffield offers three great venues in the city centre, which celebrate home-grown talent and bring outstanding international experiences to Sheffield. The Graves Gallery’s breathtaking collection of visual art spans centuries and continents.

Previous headliners have included Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Dizzee Rascal and the Courteeners. Sheffield has a vibrant arts scene, with various exhibitions held throughout the year to display independent artists’ works. Pioneering contemporary art can be found at Site Gallery, S1 Artspace and Bloc Projects, and those with a keen eye will discover a thriving underground and street art scene – including pieces by Pete McKee and Phlegm.

Supporting London’s culture and creative industries is one of the Mayor’s top priorities. The move aims to make more resources available to slow the spread of the virus. Our creative industries are successful throughout the world -our leading cultural institutions are a calling card worldwide and have important trading links from the US or Germany to China and South Korea. On 17 September 2021 there was a very special premiere screening for cast and media at the Crucible Theatre with a ‘pink’ carpet in Tudor Square, right back where Jamie Campbell’s inspirational story was first told to theatregoers.
